Prop Firms in Canada: Keep Registration Scope and CAD Costs Separate
For a Canadian reader, a prop-programme review has several independent questions: the service offered, the relevant entity, personal eligibility and the amount actually paid. A Canadian diary or CAD display does not settle the other questions.

Record the scope of a registration search
The Canadian Securities Administrators’ National Registration Search provides firm and individual searches with jurisdiction and category fields. It also distinguishes historical information. Retain the exact name, jurisdiction, category, date and status when using an official result.
This page has not searched HashHedge or determined which permissions apply to its service. A similarly named result, an incomplete search or a missing category is not a legal conclusion about every activity. Consult the relevant regulator or a qualified local professional for that question.
Reconcile a fictional CAD purchase record
Suppose an example quote is 120 USD. A supplied indicative conversion of 1.35 CAD per USD gives 162 CAD. An illustrative card debit of 166 CAD is 4 higher. Preserve both records: one estimates a cost, the other describes a supplied transaction.
The effective debit ratio is 166/120, approximately 1.3833 CAD per USD, including any embedded costs. It is not a current currency quote. If a refund or rebate later appears, record its actual currency and amount as another movement rather than rewriting the original debit.
| Field | Example value | Scope |
|---|---|---|
| Proposed price | 120 USD | Teaching quote |
| Indicative conversion | 1.35 CAD/USD | 162 CAD indication |
| Supplied debit | 166 CAD | 4 CAD difference |
| Effective ratio | 166/120 ≈ 1.3833 | Debit ratio, not pure FX quote |
Keep the decision reproducible
This site’s existing record discipline helps preserve the original assumptions. Add the exact product, rule date and provider-eligibility source before a purchase. Registration status, residency access and a successful evaluation are different conclusions with different evidence.
HashHedge’s optional sponsored link leads to its current programme information. It does not establish Canadian acceptance, registration, tax treatment or a future payment. The worksheet remains available without submitting an application, identity documents or funds.
